Athletics Day

We had so much fun on athletics day this year.

Moon Rocks

We have been learning about Space this term.  Yesterday we made our very own Moon Rocks!

They felt... smooth, sticky and soft.

Next time we may need to try a different recipe!

We were lucky to have Eria-Hone's mum, Kiri come in and hang out in the classroom today.  We love parent help!

Taniwha!!

We spent today painting and think our Taniwha is looking pretty cool!

This week we have begun putting our Taniwha in place.  We all had a go at digging the holes for out tyres.

Taniwha

Today we made models of what our Taniwha could look like. 

Welcome back to the new school term!  We have started out with a visit to the zoo which we all really enjoyed.  Thank you to those parents who came and helped us with our tamariki on the day.  Without parent help, days like these would not be possible.

MOTAT Trip

We all had a fantastic day at MOTAT learning how families lived in the 'old days '

Today was Room 2's turn to take the school assembly.  They did an amazing job!!! 

      

Yesterday Fireman Matt came and talked to us about fire safety.  We all learnt a lot about how to what do do in a fire.

Shut the door to the room where the fire is.

GET DOWN, GET LOW, GET OUT FAST.

Go to your meeting place... the letter box is a great place to choose.

This week we cooked up some potatoes from our school garden and had them for lunch!

First we washed them.

Next we cut them into little pieces.

After that we put them into a pot.

The we added some hot water and a little bit of salt.

To cook them we put the pot on the element and turned it on.

We waited until the potatoes got soft.

Las of all we ate them.  They tasted YUM!

 Room 2 Children hard at work!

These Children worked together to build a Jungle!   This exercise was to get them communicating and working towards an end goal.

They did a great job!

This afternoon as part of learning social skills, the children have been working in small groups to build something.  They had to work together by talking and discussing their creations.

We made a house and shops.  There are cars and castles.

Tulitua and Tiranta.

This is a zoo.  And it has an Elephant with seats and a table.  And we had a truck to put a mirror and a bag so the people can ride to it.

Azryiel, Manaiah, Nevaeh.

We built a jungle.  We have cars and then we put the horse behind the person.

Kody and Mark.

We were building a colour playground with a zoo.  And we put some princesses in it and her name is Miss McCulloch.

Malia, Erica, Gypsy.

All of us made a boosting motor bike, a plane and a crab cycle.

Stanley-Kruz, Ajay and Cassidy.

Today we learnt how to play '21'.

Well done Gypsy and Mark!  In assembly Gypsy won a Duffy Book and Mark got a certificate for our School Value Ako.
